Title: AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO COLLECT CERTAIN DATA REGARDING THE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AND WORK OPPORTUNITY RECONCILIATION ACT OF 1996 AND TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) AND TO MAKE SUCH INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC; TO REQUIRE THE STENNIS INSTITUTE OF GOVERNMENT AT MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY, WITH THE COOPERATION OF THE URBAN RESEARCH CENTER AT JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY, TO CONDUCT A LONGITUDINAL STUDY OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TANF AND RELATED WELFARE REFORMS; TO PRESCRIBE THE PARAMETERS OF THE STUDY; TO REQUIRE THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO COOPERATE IN ANY STUDY FUNDED BY A STATE, COUNTY OR MUNICIPAL BODY AND CONDUCTED BY AN INDEPENDENT EXPERT WHICH CONCERNS THE IMPACT UPON MISSISSIPPI RESIDENT ALIENS OF THE DENIAL OR TERMINATION OF ASSISTANCE UNDER CERTAIN FEDERAL WELFARE PROGRAMS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
