Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 41-79-5, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT NURSING STAFF IN THE SCHOOL NURSE INTERVENTION PROGRAM MAY BE EITHER A REGISTERED NURSE OR A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE; TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SHALL PRESCRIBE ANY ADDITIONAL TRAINING NECESSARY FOR A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE TO BE QUALIFIED AS A SCHOOL NURSE IN THE PROGRAM; TO PROVIDE THAT BEGINNING WITH THE 2001-2002 SCHOOL YEAR, A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE MUST COMPLETE ANY SUCH TRAINING BEFORE SERVING AS A SCHOOL NURSE IN THE PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
