Senate Resolution 11

A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE RECOGNITION AND THANKS OF THE MISSISSIPPI SENATE TO ANN ALEXANDER, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, FRIENDS OF MISSISSIPPI VETERANS, FOR HER TIRELESS DEDICATION AND SERVICE TO THE VETERANS OF MISSISSIPPI AND HER LASTING IMPACT ON THE VETERANS IN OUR STATE.

WHEREAS, in 2008, Ann Alexander answered the call to assist in the formation of "Friends of Mississippi Veterans," a group dedicated to supporting the Mississippi State Veterans Affairs Board in its plans to construct the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Ann's initial role as Secretary and Treasurer of Friends of Mississippi Veterans played a significant part in the organization's success and achievements; and

WHEREAS, Ann has given unselfishly of her time, talents and resources, not only to this initial cemetery project, but also to the Mississippi Veterans Home System; and

WHEREAS, the Mississippi Veterans Administration has acknowledged Ann Alexander's unfailing support of Mississippi Veterans; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we join the Mississippi Veterans Administration in honoring Ann's dedication, expertise and commitment to veterans which have made a lasting impact on our state and the veterans community:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby extend the recognition and thanks of the Mississippi Senate to Ann Alexander, Board of Directors, Friends of Mississippi Veterans, for her tireless dedication and service to the veterans of Mississippi and her lasting impact on the veterans in our state.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Ann Alexander and representatives of Friends of Mississippi Veterans, forwarded to the Mississippi Veterans Administration and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
