Senate Concurrent Resolution 505

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE JOINT RULES OF THE MISSISSIPPI SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES BY CREATING NEW JOINT RULE 9B TO ALLOW LEGISLATORS TO COSPONSOR BILLS, JOINT RESOLUTIONS AND CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONS ORIGINATING IN THE OTHER HOUSE OF THE LEGISLATURE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That the Joint Rules of the Mississippi State Senate and House of Representatives are amended by inserting the following new Joint Rule No. 9B to read as follows:

9B. Any member of the nonoriginating house may be added to a bill, joint resolution or concurrent resolution as a cosponsor at any time, including before introduction of the measure. The primary author shall be the first-named legislator of the originating house.
