Further, amend on line 721 after the word "mandatory" by inserting: "element".
Further, amend on line 802 by striking the "s" on the end of the word "schools".
Further, amend on line 909 by striking "district" and inserting in lieu thereof, the following:
"districts which were rated "C" and had charter schools located therein prior to or during the accountability model readjustment period and to school districts".
Further, amend on line 1056, by striking the deletion marks, and return the existing codified language as follows:
"(2) The charter contract of each charter school serving Grades 9-12 must include a provision ensuring that graduation requirements meet or exceed those set by the Mississippi Department of Education for a regular high school diploma. Nothing in this section shall preclude competency-based satisfaction of graduation requirements.
(3) Annual performance targets must be set by each charter school in conjunction with the authorizer and must be designed to help each school meet applicable federal, state and authorizer expectations."
Further, amend on line 1057 by striking "* * *2" and return the existing codified subsection designation as follows: "4".
Further, amend on line 1065 by striking "* * *3" and return the existing codified subsection designation as follows: "5".
Further, amend on line 1071 by striking "* * *4" and return the existing codified subsection designation as follows: "6".
Further, amend on lines 1292 through 1303, by striking the three asterisks, which denote a deletion, and all the new underlined language through the period, and returning the language to original code as follows:
"The Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER) shall prepare an annual report assessing the sufficiency of funding for charter schools, the efficacy of the state formula for authorizer funding, and any suggested changes in state law or policy necessary to strengthen the state's charter schools."
Further, amend on lines 1309 and 1327 by striking "State Auditor" and inserting in lieu thereof: "PEER".
Further, amend on line 1374 by inserting after the comma, the following: "in-person,".
