Senate Resolution 87

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ROBIN HAYES, FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" REPRESENTING THE HARRISON COUNTY CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

WHEREAS, Robin Hayes, a resident of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of distinguished service to the college; and

WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

WHEREAS, Robin Hayes, an Information Systems Technology Instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for 23 years; and

WHEREAS, Robin Hayes received her Associate of Arts Degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from The University of Southern Mississippi, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Faulkner University; and

WHEREAS, Robin Hayes has worked as a Software Engineer for Lockheed Martin Technology Services on Eglin Airforce Base in Florida, and as a Programmer/Analyst for Northrop Grumman Ship Systems prior to being an Instructor, Advisor and Curriculum Developer with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend an outstanding teacher, who has dedicated her career to teaching individuals of this state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Robin Hayes for being selected as the "Instructor of the Year" representing the Harrison County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and extend to her our heartiest wishes for success in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Robin Hayes, forwarded to the President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
