A RESOLUTION JOINING WOMEN FOR PROGRESS OF MS, INC., IN HONORING HINDS COUNTY SHERIFF TYREE JONES FOR 25 YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT LEADERSHIP.

WHEREAS, Sheriff Tyree Jones has dedicated 25 years of exemplary service to law enforcement in Hinds County, Mississippi, demonstrating unwavering commitment to public safety and community well-being; and

WHEREAS, throughout his distinguished career, Sheriff Jones has consistently exemplified the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and leadership, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues, community members, and law enforcement professionals; and

WHEREAS, Sheriff Jones has made significant contributions to the enhancement of community-police relations, fostering trust and collaboration between law enforcement and the diverse communities of Hinds County; and

WHEREAS, under his leadership, the Hinds County Sheriff's Office has implemented numerous innovative programs aimed at crime prevention, youth engagement, and community outreach, positively influencing the lives of countless individuals and families; and

WHEREAS, Sheriff Jones has been an advocate for diversity and inclusion within law enforcement, recognizing the importance of a police force that reflects the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, his tireless efforts have not only improved the safety of Hinds County but have also inspired the next generation of law enforcement professionals to pursue careers in service to others:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we join Women for Progress of MS, Inc., in honoring Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones for his 25 years of dedicated service and leadership in law enforcement and express our gratitude for his unwavering commitment to making Hinds County a safer and more inclusive place for all residents.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Sheriff Tyree Jones as a token of our appreciation and recognition of his invaluable contributions to our community, forwarded to the Hinds County Board of Supervisors and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
