AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO HANCOCK COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PLANNING, DESIGN, SITE PREPARATION, CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT OF A LIVE FIRE BURN BUILDING FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2026.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to Hancock County, Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying costs associated with the planning, design, site preparation, construction and equipment of a live fire burn building to be located within Hancock County, Mississippi, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026................... $ 1,500,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  (1)  It is the intent of the Legislature that the funds appropriated under Section 1 of this act shall be used solely for the planning, design, site preparation, and construction of a live fire burn building and associated classrooms meeting the requirements of the Mississippi State Rating Bureau, to be located within Hancock County, Mississippi.   (2)  It is the intent of the Legislature that these funds may not be used for any other purpose or transferred to any other account.

     SECTION 3.  As a condition of receiving and expending the funds appropriated by this act, the Hancock County Board of Supervisors shall administer these funds and shall provide to the Legislative Budget Office and the State Auditor a detailed report of the expenditures made with the funds appropriated under Section 1, no later than September 1, 2027.

     SECTION 4.  The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 5.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2025.
