House Resolution 53

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE MADISON-RIDGELAND ACADEMY LADY PATRIOTS VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE MIDSOUTH ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS (MAIS) DIVISION 1 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Madison-Ridgeland Academy (MRA) Lady Patriots Volleyball Team has brought honor and pride to Madison County by winning the 2024 Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Division 1 State Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Patriots Volleyball Team demonstrated their ability through dedication, perseverance, leadership and hard work to live up to the championship tradition recognized throughout the State of Mississippi that personifies MRA volleyball with a 38-6 season record; and

WHEREAS, the success of the volleyball program at Madison-Ridgeland Academy is due to the incredible support and resources made available from the parents, coaches and especially the administration; and

WHEREAS, the team's ascent to the pinnacle of volleyball excellence has been manifested through the tenacious efforts of both coaches and athletes alike, including: Head Coach Ross Dorr; Assistant Coach Elizabeth Sandridge; athletes, Chloe Carr, Ella Eatherly, Macy Gladden, Gabby Strickland, Margaret Reily, Kinsey Griffin, Emerson Dorr, Lyla Cromwell, Reese Roundtree, Madeline Morlier, Lily Sistrunk, Alyssa Dampier, Fallon Humphries, Selah Sandridge, Layla Fulcher, Chloe Watkins, Kinsley Hales, Ansley Etheridge, Sophia Villani and Ramsey Milling; and

WHEREAS, the team will surely carry the unforgettable memories they made along the way and the lessons of hard work, dedication and perseverance learned during this amazing season throughout their lives as they remember the feeling of greatness that accompanies being a champion; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially that displayed by the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Lady Patriots Volleyball Team, and it is with great pride that we congratulate this elite group of student-athletes, who have brought honor to Madison-Ridgeland Academy, Madison County and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Lady Patriots Volleyball Team for winning the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Division 1 State Championship, and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Ross Dorr on behalf of the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Lady Patriots Volleyball Team and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
