A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE HINDS COMMUNITY COLLEGE RAYMOND CHEER TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2025 UCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE OPEN SMALL CO-ED GAME DAY DIVISION.

     WHEREAS, the Hinds Community College Raymond Cheer Team achieved a historic victory at the 2025 UCA National Championship, capturing the title in the Open Small Co-Ed Game Day Division with a stellar performance that earned a score of 90.7 with zero deductions, narrowly defeating perennial powerhouse Coastal Alabama Community College, which finished second with a score of 90.6333; and

     WHEREAS, under the leadership of first-year Head Coach Kadin Adcox, who skillfully balanced the demands of her new role while caring for her newborn son, the team demonstrated extraordinary resilience, dedication, and perseverance in overcoming significant challenges on their path to the championship; and

     WHEREAS, just one week before the competition, the team faced an unexpected setback when standout team member, Chris Williams, sustained an injury that prevented him from traveling with the team; however, the squad regrouped, adjusted their routine, and delivered a flawless, championship-winning performance on the national stage; and

     WHEREAS, the members of the 2025 Hinds Community College Raymond Cheer Team whose collective talent, discipline, and teamwork led them to this prestigious national title include:

Monroe Allen, Juliet Arnold, Logan Banks, Steven Barrett, Zhikeya Capels, Peyton Combs, Elliot Cruthirds, Aaliyah Dawkins-Allen,

Destney Hicks, Kaitlyn Hill, Mackenzie Johnson, Maylee Lockley, Landri Jo Powell, Anecia Robinson, Callie Sims, Chloe Teasley

Marlecia Tucker, Alyssa Wheat and Chris Williams; and

     WHEREAS, this victory is particularly notable given the highly competitive nature of the division, in which Coastal Alabama Community College and East Mississippi Community College, which finished third with a score of 88.8, pushed Hinds to showcase their absolute best; and

     WHEREAS, the team's ability to remain focused, disciplined, and determined despite adversity is a testament to their unwavering work ethic and the steadfast guidance of Coach Adcox, who, despite her own challenges, led them to triumph with poise and determination; and

     WHEREAS, the Hinds Community College Raymond Cheer Team's national championship not only brings immense pride to their school but also sets a new standard of excellence, proving that perseverance, dedication, and teamwork can overcome even the most daunting obstacles; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend outstanding Mississippi student-athletes, especially those such as the Hinds Community College Raymond Cheer Team, whose hard work and commitment bring honor to their institution and the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and commend the Hinds Community College Raymond Cheer Team for winning the 2025 UCA National Championship in the Open Small Co-Ed Game Day Division and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Kadin Adcox, the administration of Hinds Community College and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
