House Bill 1393

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE COUNTIES AND MUNCIPALITIES TO ENTER INTO CERTAIN INTERGOVERNMENTAL SUPPORT AGREEMENTS WITH MILITARY BRANCHES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. A local government unit may enter into an intergovernmental support agreement with a branch of the Armed Forces of the United States under the National Defense Authorization Act (10 USC Section 2679) to provide installation-support services to a military installation located in this state.

As used in this section, the term "local government unit" means any county or incorporated city, town or village in the State of Mississippi.

SECTION 2. Section 1 of this act shall be codified in Chapter 25, Title 17, Mississippi Code of 1972.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
