Senate Amendments to House Bill No. 313

TO THE CLERK OF THE HOUSE:

  THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE SENATE HAS ADOPTED THE AMENDMENTS SET OUT BELOW:

AMENDMENT NO. 1

     AMEND by striking all of SECTION 52 on lines 1469-1471 and inserting the following language in lieu thereof:

     SECTION 52.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after January 1, 2025, except for Sections 1 and 27, which shall take effect and be in force from and after the passage of this act.

     Licenses and registrations issued by the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and the State Board of Barber Examiners, prior to the effective date of this act, shall remain in full force and confer the same authority as when they were issued.  Such licenses and registrations shall remain in full force until such time that the licenses and registrations expire or are revoked, as applicable.

     All property and assets owned by the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and the State Board of Barber Examiners shall be vested in and transferred to the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering by January 1, 2025.

     Any litigation, disciplinary action, or other proceeding pending as of the effective date of this act, in the name of or against the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology or the State Board of Barber Examiners, shall continue in the name of the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering.

"five (5) elected delegates from the Mississippi Esthetics Association"
