Senate Resolution 105

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE REGENTS SCHOOL OF OXFORD "LADY LYONS" VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND COACH KACIE HENGLER FOR WINNING THE DIVISION 3A MAIS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, MARKING THEIR THIRD-CONSECUTIVE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Regents School of Oxford "Lady Lyons" Volleyball Team secured a remarkable victory on October 25, 2023. They triumphed over Winston Academy in the Division 3A MAIS State Volleyball Championship, winning all three sets to clinch the title; and

WHEREAS, this marks their third consecutive State Championship in the volleyball program; and

WHEREAS, the MAIS 2023 Division 3A Girls State Volleyball Championship Team from Regents School of Oxford are: Miller Callery, Cate Callicutt, Linton Case, Molly Embry, Maggie Hill, Bailey Ray, Megan Ray, Laura McCullen, Myla Meurrier, Selah Meurrier, Lauren Niemeyer, Maddi Niemeyer, Greer Smith, Sadie Smith and Coach Kacie Hengler; and

WHEREAS, Regents School of Oxford is a Classical, Christian school located in the College Hill Community of Oxford, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these student-athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Regents School of Oxford "Lady Lyons" Volleyball Team and Coach Kacie Hengler for winning the Division 3A MAIS State Volleyball Championship, marking their third-consecutive State Championship, and extend to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors our best wishes for future success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Kacie Hengler for the team, forwarded to Regents School of Oxford Head of School Dr. Matt Schroeder and Board of Trustees and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
