AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO LARRY SILLS OF NEWTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Larry Sills of Newton County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his convictions of the crimes:
(a) Of burglary and larceny in 1981 in Newton County, Mississippi; and
(b) Of grand larceny in 1985 in Newton County, Mississippi.
Sills was also convicted of escape in 1982. He was sentenced to serve four (4) years for the 1981 conviction, one (1) year for the 1982 conviction, and four (4) years for the 1985 conviction in the custody of the Department of Corrections. He was finally discharged on October 29, 1989. Since that time, he has conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
