AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 446 LOCATED IN BOLIVAR COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "H.M. "MACK" GRIMMETT MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; TO DESIGNATE A SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 28 LOCATED IN THE SOSO, JONES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "PAUL HOLIFIELD MEMORIAL HIGHWAY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 446 located in Bolivar County, Mississippi, extending for a distance of approximately one (1) mile in the easterly direction from its point of intersection with Shaw-Skene Road to its point of intersection with Gilbert Road, is designated and shall be known as the "H.M. "Mack" Grimmett Memorial Highway."

(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.

SECTION 2. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 28 located in Soso, Jones County, Mississippi, extending for a distance of approximately one (1) mile in the northwesterly direction beginning at its intersection with Margay Road to a point of termination at its intersection with Mississippi Highway 29, is designated and shall be known as the "Paul Holifield Memorial Highway."

(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
