AN ACT TO CREATE SECTION 25-61-11.3, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO INCLUDE IN THE MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC RECORDS ACT AN EXEMPTION FOR THE PRIVATE INFORMATION OF MINORS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 25-61-11.3, Mississippi Code of 1972:
25-61-11.3. When in the possession of any state agency, institution of higher education, community college, public school, public charter school, or the governing authority of any local government, the name, birth date, home address, telephone number and other private information for any minor person under twenty-one (21) years of age shall be exempt from the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
