House Resolution 162

A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE GERMANTOWN HIGH SCHOOL ROBOTICS TEAM FOR WINNING THE SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD AT THE 2024 VEX ROBOTICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Germantown High School Robotics Team, "Team Vexecution", brought home hardware from the 2024 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas, by winning the Sportsmanship Award, a truly outstanding achievement; and

WHEREAS, the Sportsmanship Award recognizes Team Vexecution's high degree of good sportsmanship, helpfulness, respect, and a positive attitude both on and off the competition field; and

WHEREAS, the key to Team Vexecution's success has been the tremendous dedication and year round hard work by the team's talented and distinguished members: Emiliano Valdez, Ethan Knight and Crosby Petro; and

WHEREAS, Team Vexecution has been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Jeff Knight and Assistant Coach Trey Petro, who have broadened the team's knowledge and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, in their tireless dedication, Team Vexecution has developed a winning, cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitudes reflect great credit upon the individual members, Coach Knight, Assistant Coach Petro, Madison County School Sponsor, Jennifer Richardson, and Germantown High School Sponsor, Vicki Parks; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize exceptional Mississippi students, especially those such as the Germantown High School Robotics Team, Team Vexecution, whose hard work, dedication, and excellence brings honor to Germantown High School and the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Germantown High School Robotics Team and Coach Knight upon winning the Sportsmanship Award at the 2024 VEX Robotics World Championship, and extend best wishes to Team Vexecution for continued success in all their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Coach Jeff Knight, on behalf of the Germantown High School Robotics Team, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
