A RESOLUTION COMMENDING NORTHWEST JACKSON MIDDLE SCHOOL UPON THE DISTINGUISHED OCCASION OF BEING CHOSEN AS THE NUMBER ONE PERFORMING MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI.

WHEREAS, the students, teachers and administration at Northwest Jackson Middle School in Jackson, Mississippi, have earned the distinguished honor of being chosen as the number one performing middle school in the great State of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, this prestigious ranking is the first time the school has experienced being awarded number one in the state; and

WHEREAS, this amazing educational institution has also been an A-rated school for the last three years; and

WHEREAS, the school is guided by its passionate leader, Principal Kevin Culver, who credits the unwavering dedication of his teachers, staff and students for reaching this academic honor; and

WHEREAS, throughout the school year, teachers have worked diligently to connect metric themes across different subject areas, and assist the students in achieving well-rooted understanding; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to celebrate the outstanding middle school institutions, such as Northwest Jackson Middle School, that are committed to the success of its students, and whose successes help improve our state's national ratings:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the students, faculty and administration of Northwest Jackson Middle School for earning the distinguished honor of being chosen as the #1 ranked school in the State of Mississippi.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Northwest Jackson Middle School, Principal Kevin Culver and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
