House Resolution 99

A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING MR. BROCK MOSLEY FOR WINNING THE FOLDS OF HONOR BASSMASTER ELITE AT SABINE RIVER.

WHEREAS, Mr. Brock Mosley, of Collinsville, Mississippi, has won the Folds of Honor Bassmaster Elite at Sabine River, a truly outstanding achievement; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Mosley attended Delta State University, where he played baseball, and after his junior year, he transferred to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where he earned a degree in business marketing, and while there, he began concentrating on his dream of becoming a professional bass angler and joined the Ole Miss Fishing team, where he was able to win the 2011 Southeast BASS Regional on the Alabama River; and

WHEREAS, after qualifying for the Elite Series through the Bassmaster Opens in 2015, Mr. Mosley notched four second-place finishes: St. Lawrence River 2017, Lake St. Clair 2017, Pickwick Lake 2021, and Sabine River 2021, and over the last two seasons, his seven Top 10 Elite finishes are the most on tour; and

WHEREAS, in his eighth year on the Elite Series, Mr. Mosley tallied a four-day total of 44 pounds, 3 ounces, to claim his first pro-level win at the Folds of Honor Bassmaster Elite at Sabine River, and along with the coveted Elite Series trophy, he won the $100,000 prize, pushing his career earnings with B.A.S.S. over $785,000; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor extraordinary Mississippians, especially those such as Mr. Mosley, whose tremendous hard work and dedication to the sport of fishing is an inspiration to all:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and commend Mr. Brock Mosley for winning the Folds of Honor Bassmaster Elite at Sabine River, and express our most sincere wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be furnished to Mr. Brock Mosley, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
