AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARSHALL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO EMPLOY ADDITIONAL ASSISTANT PART-TIME COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEYS AND TO PRESCRIBE THE COMPENSATION FOR SUCH ATTORNEYS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Marshall County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may employ additional assistant part-time county prosecuting attorneys as it determines necessary and shall designate the duties and responsibilities of such attorneys.  Such attorneys shall be compensated with an annual salary or appearance fee in an amount not to exceed ninety percent (90%) of the amount paid to the elected county prosecuting attorney.  The salary authorized by this section for the assistant county prosecuting attorneys shall be the sole and complete salary to be paid by Marshall County for such assistant part-time prosecuting attorneys, notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
