AN ACT TO DESIGNATE THE BRIDGES ON U.S. HIGHWAY 72 IN ALCORN COUNTY, NEAR BURNSVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS MEMORIAL BRIDGE"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The eastbound and westbound bridges situated on U.S. Highway 72 located in Alcorn County, which spans the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway near Burnsville, Mississippi, and which further provide an easterly travel path towards Iuka, Mississippi, and westerly travel path towards Corinth, Mississippi, is designated and shall collectively be known as the "Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Bridge."
(2) The Transportation Department shall erect and maintain an appropriate plaque at each end of the bridge and suitable markers along and approaching the bridge.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
