AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 83-5-59, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH REQUIRES THE COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE, TO RECEIVE AND THOROUGHLY EXAMINE EACH ANNUAL STATEMENT AND, IF MADE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW OF MISSISSIPPI, TO PUBLISH AT THE EXPENSE OF THE COMPANY AN ABSTRACT OF THE SAME IN ONE OF THE NEWSPAPERS OF THE STATE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 83-5-59, Mississippi Code of 1972, which requires the Commissioner of Insurance, to receive and thoroughly examine each annual statement and, if made in compliance with the law of Mississippi, to publish at the expense of the company an abstract of the same in one (1) of the newspapers of the state, to be selected by the company, is repealed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
