A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE OUTSTANDING JUDICIAL CAREER OF JUDGE LAWRENCE "LARRY" PRIMEAUX, CHANCELLOR OF THE TWELFTH CHANCERY COURT DISTRICT, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.
WHEREAS, we join the family, friends and colleagues of Chancellor Lawrence "Larry" Primeaux in honoring his outstanding professional career on the occasion of his retirement; and
WHEREAS, Judge Lawrence Primeaux has been Chancellor of the Twelfth Chancery Court District of Mississippi since January 2007; and
WHEREAS, Judge Primeaux served as a member of the Mississippi Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Civil Rules from 2010-2022; and
WHEREAS, Judge Primeaux was Chair for the Mississippi Conference of Chancery Judges from 2018-2019; and
WHEREAS, Judge Primeaux was a member of the Mississippi Commission on Guardianships and Conservatorships, which drafted the legislation that became the Guard and Protect (GAP) Act; and
WHEREAS, Judge Primeaux authored the widely read Better Chancery Practice Blog between 2010-2020; and
WHEREAS, Judge Primeaux has been married to Lisa M. Primeaux, a retired register nurse, for 51 years, and they have three children and two grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Chancellor Primeaux served as a leader and mentor. He consistently lectured on professional standards of the practice, including ethics, integrity, civility, courtesy and adherence to the Golden Rule. His practice honored both The Mississippi Bar and this great state that he loved and served:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize the outstanding judicial career of Judge Lawrence "Larry" Primeaux, Chancellor of the Twelfth Chancery Court District, on the occasion of his retirement, and extend our best wishes to him and his family on this memorable occasion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Chancellor Primeaux and his family, forwarded to the 12th Chancery District Bar and The Mississippi Bar, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
