AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF JACKSON COUNTY AND THE JACKSON COUNTY UTILITY AUTHORITY TO SHARE EQUIPMENT, LABOR, SERVICES, RESOURCES, AND FUNDS UPON SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS THEY MAY MUTUALLY AGREE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, in its discretion, may provide county equipment, labor, and other county services and resources, including county funds, to the Jackson County Utility Authority, upon such terms and conditions as may be mutually agreed upon by the Board of Supervisors and the Board of the Jackson County Utility Authority.  Before providing such equipment, labor, services, resources or funds, the Board of Supervisors shall make a finding, by resolution duly adopted and entered on their minutes, that such mutual aid is in the best interest of the citizens and taxpayers of Jackson County.

     (2)  The Board of Directors of the Jackson County Utility Authority, in its discretion, may provide equipment, labor, and other utility services or funds to Jackson County, Mississippi, upon such terms and conditions as may be mutually agreed upon by the Board of the Jackson County Utility Authority and the Board of Supervisors of Jackson County.  Before providing such equipment, labor, services or funds, the Board of the Jackson County Utility Authority shall make a finding by resolution duly adopted and entered on their minutes, that such mutual aid is in the best interest of the citizens and taxpayers of Jackson County.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
