AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE COUNTIES TO DIRECTLY ALLOCATE CORONAVIRUS STATE AND LOCAL FISCAL RECOVERY FUNDS MADE AVAILABLE UNDER THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT OF 2021 TO RURAL WATER ASSOCIATIONS FOR WATER AND SEWER INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The boards of supervisors of any county are hereby authorized to directly allocate Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds made available under the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to rural water associations for water and sewer infrastructure projects.
SECTION 2. Section 1 of this act shall be codified in Title 19, Chapter 5 of the Mississippi Code of 1972.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2023.
