House Resolution 183

A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING MR. DAVID TADLOCK FOR HIS OUTSTANDING CAREER AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO HIS COMMUNITY.

     WHEREAS, coming from a long line of cattlemen, for nearly 50 years, Mr. David Tadlock has been the owner and operator of Tadlock Stockyards, the largest place to purchase cattle in central Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, passing the business down from one generation to the next, Mr. Tadlock's family has owned and operated Tadlock Stockyards for nearly a century, and his dedication to the industry is evident in the time and energy he dedicates to the family business; and  

     WHEREAS, with a crucial role in the success of the cattle industry in Mississippi, for his efforts, Mr. Tadlock was inducted into the 2022 Mississippi Cattlemen's Association Hall of Fame, a truly outstanding honor; and

     WHEREAS, outside of his distinguished career in the cattle industry, Mr. Tadlock serves on the Board of Directors for Southern Pine Electric, representing Scott County; and

     WHEREAS, Southern Pine Electric is one of the largest electric cooperatives in the country, with over 10,500 miles of energized line, serving more than 69,400 residential, business, and industrial members, and its 11-county service area encompasses 14.3 percent of the total land mass of Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize outstanding Mississippians such as Mr. Tadlock, whose dedication to his family legacy, lifetime of contributions and impactful service brings honor to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and commend Mr. David Tadlock for his outstanding career and contributions to his community, and express our most sincere wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. David Tadlock and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
