A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MRS. GLORIA A. THOMPSON FOR HER ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER IN THE GOSPEL MUSIC INDUSTRY, BRINGING POSITIVE RECOGNITION TO MISSISSIPPI'S TALENTED ARTISTS AND PROMOTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THIS STATE.

     WHEREAS, Gloria A. Thompson is a successful businesswoman who continues to be a powerhouse in the Gospel music industry for the last twenty years; and

     WHEREAS, she is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Globoyz Productionz, which is a successful business management and production company for gospel artists, which also creates and promotes sensational events for its artists as well as others; and

     WHEREAS, the company's impressive roster of artists includes Noel and Friendz, Jermaine Hawkins and the Harvey Spirituals, Andrew and the Spiritual Disciples, Anointed SA, Ricky Burton and 4Ever Grateful, Marvin Brown and God Anointed, Seed of Righteous, Tony T The Producer, RJM Production, LT Videos, Promoting for 3 Girls Trucking, Promoting for Alfonso Bowen and General Manager at Vigor Music; and

     WHEREAS, her accomplishments in the music industry have not gone unnoticed by officials across the state, as she has been honored by former Jackson, Mississippi, Mayor Harvey Johnson, Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Mayor Sally Garland, and former Hazlehurst, Mississippi, Mayor Shirley Sandifer; and

     WHEREAS, the gospel music industry has also celebrated her many accomplishments by awarding her the 2021 Management Company of the year from Premier Gospel, the 2021 5th Annual Gulf Coast Gospel Music Awards, the 2022 Gospel Promoter of the Year by the Annual Golden Triangle Music Award, the 2022 Management Company of the Year Award by Premier Gospel Music, as the 2022 inductee in the ZBT Awards Hall of Fame, and the 2022 Recognition by the National Women's Association for Years in the Music Industry; and

     WHEREAS, she has been lovingly supported throughout her many business endeavors by her beloved husband of 27 years, Lloyd J. Thompson; and

     WHEREAS, above all of her accomplishments, she considers her three children: Jerry, Nikia and Russhele, and her grandchildren: Jerrineisha, Jenia, Douglas, Jaylon, JaKavion, Nadiyah, Khloe, Taylor, Alex, Austin and Jordyn as her greatest accomplishments; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to honor Mississippi business owners who bring great honor to our state and promote economic development in our state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Mrs. Gloria A. Thompson for her illustrious career in the gospel music industry, bringing positive recognition to Mississippi's talented artists and promoting economic development in this state.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Gloria A. Thompson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
