A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE MIZE ATTENDANCE CENTER BULLDOGS CHEERLEADING TEAM FOR WINNING THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 2A STATE CHEER COMPETITION.

     WHEREAS, proving hard work and diligence are the keys to success, the Mize Attendance Center Bulldogs Cheerleading Team competed against ten other squads in the 2022 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A State Cheer Competition, and after a flawless and electric performance, they won their second consecutive state cheer title on December 10, 2022; and

     WHEREAS, under the insightful and accomplished leadership of Head Coach Brooke King, the Bulldogs did an exceptional job of rehearsing their cheers and routines, unifying all of their strengths to make a good squad and ultimately executing an outstanding job working toward the accomplishment of this highly pursued goal; and

     WHEREAS, throughout this special season, the Mize Attendance Center Cheerleaders worked extremely hard to succeed, and the members have improved exponentially in all aspects of their cheerleading abilities, which is largely due to their outstanding God-given talent, strong desire to win and tremendous work ethic; and

     WHEREAS, after taking home the top spots in both regional and state competitions, the squad has its sights set on winning the 2023 National High School Cheerleading Championship, where they placed second last year; and

     WHEREAS, the members of the Mize Attendance Center Cheerleading Team, who constantly impress with their sincere displays of professionalism and self discipline, include: Senior and captains, Annalyse Layton, Delaney Smith, Grace Anglin and Trinity Amason, as well as Caroline Ulmer, Emily Amason, Graci Sullivan, Molly Keyes, Saylor Sullivan, Abby Swales, Adison King, Allisabeth Shutters, Elizabeth Keith, Jena Lowery, Kierstin Street, Bethany Amason, Lila Gordon, Olivia Evans, Adyson Carter, Anna Lauren Johnston, Caroline Ellzey and Presley Welborn, and alternates, Natalie Hagans and Bella Pitts; and

     WHEREAS, the Bulldogs Cheerleaders have practiced and worked together for many hours in the pursuit of greatness and have shown a high degree of sportsmanship while representing the State of Mississippi at all levels of competition, and through their superior accomplishments, these Magnolia State student athletes have brought honor to themselves, their families and to Mize Attendance Center; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend outstanding student athletes such as the Mize Attendance Center Bulldogs Cheerleading Team, whose superb attitudes and unparalleled determination to reach their championship goal brought honor and glory to Mize Attendance Center and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Mize Attendance Center Bulldogs Cheerleading Team for winning their second consecutive Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A State Cheer Competition, and extend best wishes for continued success in all of their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Brooke King and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
