AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO MARCUS JACKSON OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Marcus Jackson of Hinds County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction on August 20, 2018, in Madison County for the crime of embezzlement over Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) less than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) as a lesser included offense of embezzlement Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), for which he was sentenced to ten (10) years with the last five (5) years to be released and placed on supervised probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections to run consecutively to all other sentences.

     He was released on parole on December 3, 2019.  He completed all terms and conditions of his sentence and was discharged on June 29, 2021.

     The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2023.
