AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE TOWN OF BUDE, MISSISSIPPI, WHICH IS A QUALIFIED RESORT AREA, TO PROVIDE BY ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION THAT PACKAGE RETAILER'S PERMITS MAY BE ISSUED IN THE TOWN AND THAT ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES MAY BE RECEIVED, STORED, SOLD, POSSESSED AND DISTRIBUTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SUCH PERMITS AS SET OUT UNDER THE LOCAL OPTION ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL LAW; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the Town of Bude, Mississippi, which is a qualified resort area as defined under Section 67-1-5(o)(iii)46, Mississippi Code of 1972, is authorized to allow, by ordinance or resolution, that package retailer's permits may be issued in the Town of Bude.  When package retailer's permits are issued, as authorized under this section, it shall be lawful to receive, store, sell, possess and distribute alcoholic beverages in accordance with such package retailer's permits as set out under the Local Option Alcoholic Beverage Control Law in Sections 67-1-1, et seq., Mississippi Code of 1972.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
