AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE COSTS OF CERTAIN PROJECTS FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING UPON THE PASSAGE OF THIS ACT AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2024.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Capital Expense Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Finance and Administration for the purpose of paying costs associated with the projects listed in Section 2 of this act, for the period beginning upon the passage of this act and ending June 30, 2024. $ 15,500,000.00.
SECTION 2. The money appropriated to the Department of Finance and Administration under Section 1 of this act shall be used for the following purposes:
(a) To assist the Briarwood Pool in Jackson, Mississippi, in paying costs associated with ADA requirements and accessibility plan $ 250,000.00.
(b) To assist the City of Jackson, Mississippi, in paying costs associated with renovations and upgrades for the Jackson Planetarium...................................... $ 2,000,000.00.
(c) To assist the department in paying the costs associated with the development of the LeFleur's Bluff Otter Creek Golf Park and Connector Trail Project......................... $ 13,250,000.00.
TOTAL.......................................... $ 15,500,000.00.
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Capital Expense Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
