AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 41-63-31, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE CURRENT LAWS ON THE EVALUATION AND REVIEW OF PROFESSIONAL HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL APPLY TO ACTIONS OF REVIEW COMMITTEES AND/OR ACCREDITATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE COMMITTEES FORMED BY ORGAN PROCUREMENT ORGANIZATIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 41-63-31, Mississippi Code of 1972:
41-63-31. The provisions of this chapter shall apply to actions of review committees and/or accreditation and quality assurance committees formed by procurement organizations as defined in Section 41-39-103. The confidentiality provided in Sections 41-63-9, 41-39-21, 41-39-23 and 41-39-25 are extended to the actions of such committees of procurement organizations for the express purpose of promoting quality organ procurement activities through peer review, accreditation and quality assurance functions.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2023.
