AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI AND ITS POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS AND UNIVERSITIES SHALL NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST OR GRANT PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT TO ANY INDIVIDUAL ON THE BASIS OF RACE, SEX, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, COLOR, ETHNICITY OR NATIONAL ORIGIN IN THE OPERATION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION OR PUBLIC CONTRACTING; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The State of Mississippi and its political subdivisions, including, but not limited to, public colleges and universities, shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, color, ethnicity or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education or public contracting.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.
