A RESOLUTION URGING THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO PASS AND PRESIDENT JOSEPH R. BIDEN, JR., TO SIGN LEGISLATION ESTABLISHING DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME AS THE STANDARD TIME THROUGHOUT THE CALENDAR YEAR.
WHEREAS, on March 15, 2022, the United States Senate unanimously passed the Sunshine Protection Act to end the
twice-annual changing of clocks in a move to advocate for brighter afternoons and more economic activity; and
WHEREAS, passage of such a bill to make daylight saving time year-round would end a great inconvenience for the people of the State of Mississippi and the people of the United States of America:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby urge the Congress of the United States to pass and President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., to sign appropriate legislation to establish daylight saving time as the standard time throughout the calendar year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to every member of the Congress of the United States, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
