House Resolution 89

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. MATTHEW LAMBERT OF BELL ACADEMY IN BOYLE, MISSISSIPPI, FOR BEING NAMED AN EXTRAORDINARY EDUCATOR FOR 2022 BY CURRICULUM ASSOCIATES.

WHEREAS, Curriculum Associates created the Extraordinary Educators program to celebrate and connect Best in Class teachers from across the nation; and

WHEREAS, the 2022 Class of Extraordinary Educators includes an elite group of 35 K-8 educators from across the country who illustrate growth and achievement via formal assessments, demonstrate classroom innovation and engagement practices for students, are evangelists for high standards and student achievement, and exhibit best-in-class use of i-Ready and/or Ready instructional resources designed by Curriculum Associates in their classroom; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Matthew Lambert, a graduate of Delta State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, currently teaches fifth-grade English Language Arts and social studies at Bell Academy of the Cleveland School District; and

WHEREAS, with a passion for teaching that stems from his recognition of the need to have positive male role models in the lives of young students, Mr. Lambert believes, "Together we learn," and holds his students to a high level of expectation, as he notes, "I regularly have data chats with students to discuss their achievements and areas in which they need to improve. If a student knows where they stand, they know what they need to achieve"; and

WHEREAS, as an inductee into the 2022 Class of Extraordinary Educators, Mr. Lambert has received local and national recognition, in addition to gaining access to a network of peers from around the country, opportunities for professional development, and a standing invitation to attend the Extraordinary Educators Leadership Summit in Boston, Massachusetts; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence in the accomplishments and remarkable service of educators of Mr. Lambert's exceptional caliber, who have tirelessly and selflessly devoted their lives to imparting light and knowledge into the bright scholars of this state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Matthew Lambert of the Cleveland School District for being named as an inductee of the Curriculum Associates 2022 Class of Extraordinary Educators and extend sincerest wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Matthew Lambert and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
