House Resolution 33

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE HICKORY FLAT HIGH SCHOOL LADY REBELS VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2021 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 1A GIRLS VOLLEYBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Hickory Flat High School Lady Rebels Volleyball Team reigned supreme against Resurrection Catholic School to take home the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 1A Girls Volleyball State Championship, the team's first state title; and

WHEREAS, although there were several standout individual performances over the course of their outstanding 20-7 season, the championship win was a culmination of hard work and team effort, with every player knowing their role and executing it perfectly; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Rebels roster consists of the following exceptional student-athletes: Kadence Ware, Bailey Wilson, Harley Hobbs, Sara Jo Skelton, Abigail Tatum, Hailey Harrison, Anna Reese Woods, Lily Gray, Dixie Ware, Layla Hall, Emma Wilson, Camri Westmoreland, Morgan Green, Vonterrica Garner, Mackenzie Garner, McKenley Moffitt, Anna Rose Work, Chasity White, Savannah Moore and Jo Lee Young; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Rebels have been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Adam Mauney and Coach Nolan Stevens, who have broadened the team's knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend the superb accomplishments of Mississippi's student-athletes, especially those such as the Lady Rebels, whose excellence on and off the court brings honor to their school, the Hickory Flat community, and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Hickory Flat High School Lady Rebels Volleyball Team upon winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 1A Girls Volleyball State Championship, and extend best wishes to the team for continued success in all of their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Hickory Flat High School Lady Rebels Volleyball Team and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
