A RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MR. JAMES A. WILLIAMS AND EXTENDING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.

     WHEREAS, it is written, "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven," and as such, Mr. James A. Williams's time here on earth ended at his home on January 6, 2022, as he has transitioned to life eternal; and

     WHEREAS, of Michigan City, Mississippi, in Benton County, he was a member of Miracle Temple Salt and Light Ministries in Lamar, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was a former truck driver and North District Constable and Deputy in Benton County for over 32 years; and

     WHEREAS, though he has traversed the river of life to reunite with those who answered God's summons to life eternal and now beckon his arrival to the celestial shores of Heaven's grandeur, such as his two children, Willie B. and Doreather Williams, and siblings, Napoleon Williams, Herman Williams, Harvester Williams, Harold Williams and Cora Griggs, the legacy of Mr. Williams's indelible imprint upon our lives will continue to refresh the hearts and fond memories of his loved ones, including his wife,  ReJean Allen Williams; his four daughters, Sureather Patterson of Lamar, Lorinda Terry of Lamar, Lori Tucker of Lamar, and Bianca Williams of Houston, Texas; his three sons, Walter A. Williams, Sr., of Ashland, Mississippi, Dwight Allen of Michigan City, and Orlando Williams of Michigan City; one sister, Fannie Hudson of Lamar; one brother, Willie D. Williams of Michigan City; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to honor the lives of such men as Mr. James A. Williams, whose life was a testament to the faith and hard work demonstrated by exceptional Mississippians:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby honor the life of Mr. James A. Williams, and express deepest sympathy to his family and friends upon his passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mr. James A. Williams and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
