A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. DARLENE BUSH FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE PERKINSTON CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

     WHEREAS, Ms. Darlene Bush, a resident of Perkinston, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and

     WHEREAS, this prestigious award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Bush, a mathematics instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past twelve years; and

     WHEREAS, dedicated to academic excellence, Ms. Bush received her bachelor of science degree and her master of business administration degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and her master of secondary education degree from William Carey College; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Bush worked as a mathematics teacher at Pearl River Community College prior to her career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend such an outstanding teacher as Ms. Bush, who has dedicated her career to teaching the young people of the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Darlene Bush for being selected as the Instructor of the Year at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and extend to her our most sincere wishes for success in all of her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Darlene Bush and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
