House Concurrent Resolution 67

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. MONICA DONOHUE FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE HARRISON COUNTY CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

     WHEREAS, Ms. Monica Donohue, a resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Harrison County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and

     WHEREAS, this prestigious award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Donohue, a sociology instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past seven and a half years; and

     WHEREAS, dedicated to academic excellence, Ms. Donohue received her bachelor of science degree from Southern Christian University and her master of education degree from William Carey University, and she worked as a technology teacher in the Lamar County School District, prior to her career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend outstanding teachers, especially those such as Ms. Donohue, who has dedicated her career to teaching the young people of the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Monica Donohue for being selected as Instructor of the Year at the Harrison County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to her our heartiest wishes of success in all of her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Monica Donohue, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
