A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. MADELINE ZIMMERMAN FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE JACKSON COUNTY CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

     WHEREAS, Ms. Madeline Zimmerman, a resident of Vancleave, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jackson County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and

     WHEREAS, this prestigious award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Zimmerman, a biology instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past eight years; and

     WHEREAS, dedicated to academic excellence, Ms. Zimmerman received her bachelor of science from the University of Southern Mississippi and her master of secondary education degree from William Carey University; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Zimmerman worked as a science teacher at St. Martin High School, prior to her career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend such an outstanding teacher as Ms. Zimmerman, who has dedicated her career to teaching the young people of the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Madeline Zimmerman for being selected as the Instructor of the Year at the Jackson County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and extend to her our heartiest wishes for success in all of her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Madeline Zimmerman, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
