House Bill 1409

AN ACT TO REQUIRE EMPLOYERS OF 911 EMERGENCY DISPATCHERS IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI TO PROVIDE THE SAME EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS TO DISPATCHERS AS PROVIDED TO FIRST RESPONDERS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS THAT PROVIDE FOR COUNSELING OR THERAPY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Employers of 911 emergency dispatchers in the State of Mississippi shall provide the same employment benefits to dispatchers as provided to first responders, including, but not limited to, any employment benefits that provide for counseling or therapy.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.
