A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. JAMES PITTMAN FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT THE PERKINSTON CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

     WHEREAS, Mr. James Pittman, a resident of Wiggins, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and

     WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Pittman, an English Instructor, has taught at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past seven years; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Pittman received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mississippi State University and Master of Education in English from William Carey University; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Pittman worked as an English Instructor in the Stone County School District prior to his career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we join Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognizing and commending such an outstanding teacher who has dedicated his career to teaching the people of this state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. James Pittman for being selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and extend to him our heartiest wishes of success in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Mr. James Pittman, forwarded to the Board of Trustees of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
