House Resolution 41

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. JOE AND MRS. JANE TUBB UPON ACKNOWLEDGING THE DIAMOND OCCASION OF CELEBRATING THEIR 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2021.

WHEREAS, Mr. Joe and Mrs. Jane Tubb, who are model residents and upstanding community pillars of Meridian, Mississippi, celebrated their Diamond Anniversary in acknowledgment of 60 years of wedded bliss on Thursday, February 25, 2021; and

WHEREAS, as it was purposed by fate to lend itself to the building upon the blueprint divinely designed for the pattern of their lives together by the Great Deity and grand architect of our lives' design, the couple met when Jane was seated front row and center at a rock and roll concert while Joe served as lead guitarist for the original Rolling Stones, when their eyes met between the strumming of melodies on his guitar strings; and

WHEREAS, eventually Jane's heart was pierced by the love, chivalry and affection of Joe, and the duo became bone of one another's bone and flesh of one another's flesh after exchanging the nuptials of holy matrimony on Saturday, February 25, 1961, in the pristine chapel of serenity of Central United Methodist Church in Meridian, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, the epitome of a power couple whose love is premised in the essential foundation of godliness and forgiveness, the marital union of Mr. Joe, who was born in Electric Mills, Mississippi, and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, and Mrs. Tubb, who is a lifetime Meridianite, has served as a source of inspiration for others both young and old alike to draw upon, tapping into their unwavering circle of love, infectious zest for life and limitless knowledge of remaining young at heart that permeates throughout the community; and

WHEREAS, keeping God as the central and foremost figure in their relationship and each other second, Mr. and Mrs. Tubb have remained diligently steadfast in their worship and servitude to kingdom building, and instilled those stalwart principles of selfless dedication into the lineal fabric of their two children, Gina Tubb Craig and Honorable State Representative Joseph Tubb, who have both instilled those tenets into the lives of their children and the Tubb's five grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend outstanding Mississippians, such as Mr. Joe and Mrs. Jane Tubb, as they celebrate their diamond anniversary and set an excellent example of what love and commitment truly mean:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Joe and Mrs. Jane Tubb upon acknowledging the diamond occasion of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and extend best wishes for many more years of happiness, faith and love.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Joe and Mrs. Jane Tubb and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
