House Resolution 8

A RESOLUTION TO AMEND HOUSE RULES TO CREATE A NEW HOUSE RULE NO. 118 TO REQUIRE AGREEMENT OF ALL MEMBERS WHO REPRESENT A JUDICIAL DISTRICT TO AGREE TO ANY ADDITION OF LEGAL ASSISTANTS.

     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That a new House Rule 118 is created to read as follows:

118.  Before any bill that creates an additional circuit judicial district that requires a new district attorney for such newly created judicial district is adopted, all House members that represent the judicial district that is the subject of the bill shall agree to the language drafted in the bill and be signed on as co-authors of the bill. 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this amendment to create House Rule 118 shall take effect immediately upon adoption of this resolution by the House of Representatives.
