House Bill 1521

AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO MR. CATLIN DAVIS OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Mr. Catlin Davis of Hinds County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction for the crime of Burglary Non-Residential in Hinds County, Mississippi, on May 6, 2005, for which he was sentenced to serve one (1) year in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, followed by one (1) year probation.  He was released to probation on February 6, 2006, which was revoked on January 15, 2010, and sentenced to Term Served.  On October 4, 2010, he was convicted for the crimes of Burglary Non-Residential and Grand Larceny, for which he was sentenced to Term Served, followed by five (5) years probation.  On July 6, 2011, he was sentenced to serve one (1) year probation for the crime of Vehicle Theft.  On November 3, 2014, he was sentenced to serve one (1) year probation for the crime of Credit Card Fraud.

     He completed all terms and conditions of his sentence and was discharged on April 6, 2020.  The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
