AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO MR. JAMES C. McCRAY OF JONES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Mr. James C. McCray of Jones County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction for the crime of Credit Card Fraud on January 22, 2014, in Jones County, Mississippi, for which he was sentenced to time served as a result of a previous sentence of one (1) year and six (6) months for a Felony-DUI conviction on September 30, 2002, followed by eighteen (18) months probation.
He completed all terms and conditions of both sentences and was discharged on August 7, 2019. The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2021.
