House Bill 1464

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE MISSISSIPPI BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE PURPOSE OF CARRYING OUT ITS RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER HUMAN TRAFFICKING ACT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2022.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation of the Department of Public Safety for the purpose of carrying out its responsibilities under Human Trafficking Act, Sections 97-3-54 through 97-3-54.13, Mississippi Code of 1972, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022

SECTION 2.  The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation of the Department of Public Safety not otherwise appropriated, to the Bureau of Investigation for the purpose of carrying out its responsibilities under Human Trafficking Act, Sections 97-3-54 through 97-3-54.13, Mississippi Code of 1972, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022 $ 142,804.68.

     SECTION 3.  Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of this act, the following positions are authorized:

Time-Limited:  Full Time..............     3

Part Time..............     0

     SECTION 4.  The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund or the proper special fund in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 5.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2021.
