House Bill 57

AN ACT TO REQUIRE THAT STATE LAWS OR REGULATIONS AFFECTING A BUSINESS OF THIS STATE MUST ALLOW EXISTING BUSINESSES TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS AND REGULATIONS PREVIOUSLY IN EFFECT; TO EXCLUDE LAWS AND REGULATIONS REVISING THE PAYMENT OF TAXES OR FEES ON AN EXISTING BUSINESS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  For any state laws or regulations affecting a business of this state that take effect after the effective date of this act, such law or regulation must allow any existing businesses to continue to operate in accordance to the laws and regulations previously in effect.  This section shall not apply to the payment of any taxes or fees, if a new law or regulation revises the payment of taxes or fees on an existing business.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2021.
