A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE PHI BETA LAMBDA BUSINESS STUDENTS AT COPIAH-LINCOLN COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING AWARDS EARNED AT THE STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE HELD AT MISSISSIPPI UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN ON FEBRUARY 26-28, 2020.

     WHEREAS, Copiah-Lincoln Community College students recently excelled in competitive events at the State Leadership Conference (SLC) hosted by Phi Beta Lambda, the collegiate division of the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL); and

     WHEREAS, Phi Beta Lambda is the largest college-student business organization in the world, each year helping over 8,000 members prepare to become community-minded business leaders through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences; and

     WHEREAS, SLC 2020 was held at the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Mississippi, February 26-28, 2020.  The students' outstanding results are as follows:

     ·  Anna Kaitlyn Ashley:  Integrated Marketing Campaign Team (2nd);

     ·  Rodney Bridgeforth:  Business Law Team 2 (4th) and Entrepreneurship Concepts (3rd);

     ·  Brantley Brister:  Business Law Team 1 (2nd) and Microeconomics (1st);

     ·  Brooke Brister:  Organizational Behavior and Leadership (4th) and Local Chapter Annual Business Report (3rd);

     ·  Nick Brumfield:  Human Resource Management Team (2nd) and Statistical Analysis (1st);

     ·  Kalei Campbell:  Integrated Marketing Campaign Team (2nd) and Economic Analysis and Decision Making Team (1st);

     ·  Hannah Drew:  Business Presentation Team (1st) and Global Analysis and Decision Making Team (1st);

     ·  Demarcus Godbolt:  Business Decision Making Team 1 (1st) and Impromptu Speaking (1st);

     ·  Tristan Jaudon:  Economic Analysis and Decision Making Team (1st) and Business Law Team 1 (2nd);

     ·  Sheridan Johnson:  Business Decision Making Team 2 (2nd) and Business Presentation Team (1st);

     ·  Marcedez Jones:  Business Presentation Team (1st) and Public Speaking (4th);

     ·  Ahrielah Marshall:  Business Decision Making Team 2 (2nd) and Business Ethics Team (1st);

     ·  Adam Martinez:  Human Resource Management Team (2nd) and Sales Presentation (1st);

     ·  Jenner McInnis:  Business Law Team 1 (2nd) and Economic Analysis and Decision Making Team (1st);

     ·  Madison Oster:  Business Decision Making Team 1 (1st);

     ·  Trace Owens:  Small Business Management Plan Team (2nd) and Business Law Team 2 (4th);

     ·  Maddox Redd:  Business Decision Making Team 1 (1st) and Global Analysis and Decision Making Team (1st);

     ·  Zacchaeus Smith:  Business Decision Making Team 2 (2nd) and Business Ethics Team (1st);

     ·  JonTaylor Thames:  Sales Presentation (3rd) and Small Business Management Plan Team (2nd);

     ·  Madelynn Thornton:  Integrated Marketing Campaign Team (2nd) and Small Business Management Plan Team (2nd);

     ·  Nikki White:  Job Interview (3rd) and Public Speaking (3rd); and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the special accomplishments of these business students who have brought honor to their college, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Phi Beta Lambda Business Students at Copiah-Lincoln Community College for their outstanding awards earned at the State Leadership Conference held at Mississippi University for Women in February 26-28, 2020, and extend our best wishes to these students for future academic and business successes.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the President of Co-Lin Community College, forwarded to the Phi Beta Lambda Representative at Co-Lin, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
