A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ANGELA BUTLER FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT THE PERKINSTON CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, Angela Butler, a resident of Lumberton, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Perkinston Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and
WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and
WHEREAS, Angela Butler, a Business and Office Technology Instructor, has taught at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past 18 years; and
WHEREAS, Angela received her Associate of Arts degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, and Master of Science degree from The University of Southern Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Angela has worked as a Business Computer Technology Teacher at Hattiesburg High School and Forrest County Agricultural High School prior to her career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend such an outstanding teacher as Angela Butler, who has dedicated her career to teaching the young people of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Angela Butler for being selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Perkinston Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and extend to her our heartiest wishes of success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Angela Butler, forwarded to the President of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
